Flag hoisting, presidential address, and cultural performances highlight celebrations organized by the Indian Relief Committee
RAS AL KHAIMAH, UAE :Members of the Indian expatriate community in Ras Al Khaimah gathered to celebrate India’s 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervor and cultural presentations.
The main ceremonial event saw Indian Consul B. G. Krishnan hoist the Indian national flag before reading out the official Independence Day address from the President of India.
Dr. Nisham Noorudeen presided over the function, which brought together representatives and workers from various political, social, and cultural organizations across the emirate.
A series of patriotic programs marked the festivities, highlighted by a rendering of Vande Mataram and stage performances by children under the direction of Anu Balnarayanan and Supriya Ghosh.
The coordination of the ceremony was managed by Indian Relief Committee (IRC) Joint Secretary Mohan Pankath and Admin Officer Padmaraj. IRC Treasurer Dr. K. M. Mathew delivered the vote of thanks to conclude the formal event.
