Emergency services cordon off Industrial Area 5 as multi-agency response works to contain the blaze and secure surrounding properties.

SHARJAH, August 18, 2026:Firefighters in Sharjah spent Tuesday afternoon battling a major blaze in Industrial Area 5, with emergency authorities reporting no injuries or fatalities from the incident.

The Sharjah Civil Defence Authority deployed specialized firefighting units and heavy equipment to the scene after the alarm was raised, working to prevent the flames from spreading to adjacent commercial and industrial properties.

Sharjah Police officers established a strict safety cordon around the site, blocking off nearby roads to divert vehicular traffic and keep access routes clear for incoming emergency vehicles and support units.

Municipal and utility teams joined the operation, with the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) and Sharjah City Municipality providing on-site operational support to secure utility connections and manage water supply logistics.

Authorities confirmed that emergency protocol procedures were initiated immediately, keeping the situation under continuous monitoring while fire crews worked to bring the blaze fully under control.

An investigation into the cause of the fire will begin once cooling operations are completed.
