New air cargo dispatch carrying 60 tonnes of school supplies from Sharjah arrives in Egypt as part of Operation Gallant Knight 3 to support Palestinian students.
ABU DHABI, Aug 19, 2026:The United Arab Emirates has delivered approximately $3.9 billion in relief aid to the Gaza Strip, accounting for nearly half of all international humanitarian assistance directed to the enclave, officials confirmed Wednesday.
The figure, representing 46 percent of total global aid provided to Gaza, underlines the scale of the Gulf nation’s direct intervention since launching its centralized field operation. Hammoud Al Afari, Relief Operations Coordinator for Operation Gallant Knight 3, stated that the logistical network was built to execute rapid, high-volume aid transfers directly to displaced populations.
The milestone coincides with the launch of a targeted educational relief initiative managed by Sharjah Charity International in coordination with military and relief logistics personnel. Dubbed “With Knowledge, We Rise,” the project addresses severe shortages in basic academic materials across primary and secondary levels in the war-torn territory.
As part of the drive, a cargo aircraft loaded with 60 tonnes of school and administrative supplies departed Sharjah International Airport for the Egyptian city of Al Arish. Logistics teams on the ground will handle border transit through the Rafah crossing to deliver the materials into Gaza.
Abdullah bin Khadem, Executive Director of Sharjah Charity International, confirmed that the organization’s total contribution to Gaza relief operations has crossed Dh20 million. The current academic airlift aims to distribute more than 25,000 fully equipped school bags directly to students facing severe infrastructure disruptions.
UAE operations under Operation Gallant Knight 3 continue to manage field hospitals, desalination plants, and regular air-and-land supply chains through Egypt to sustain basic relief flows into Gaza.
