Renowned mentalist focuses on solo stage performances as 16-country international theatrical production is temporarily shelved
DUBAI — Celebrated mentalist Aathi has announced the temporary postponement of his ambitious 16-country international theatrical show featuring Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, while officially confirming his complete withdrawal from assisting Kerala Police in criminal investigations.
Speaking at a press conference in Dubai ahead of his upcoming stage show, Aathi revealed that the project alongside Mohanlal remains his dream initiative. Designed as an intimate two-person performance blending emotional storytelling with advanced mentalism techniques, the production aimed to tour 16 nations. While scheduling priorities have forced a pause, the illusionist expressed strong confidence that the show will eventually hit the stage.
Addressing his past involvement with law enforcement, Aathi clarified that he severed all analytical and consulting ties with the Kerala Police three years ago. His last major involvement occurred during the investigation into the high-profile Koodathayi serial murder case involving prime accused Jolly Joseph. Misunderstandings arising from his investigative contributions and the resulting psychological strain prompted his decision to step away permanently. Moving forward, Aathi emphasized his resolve to dedicate his expertise strictly to mentalism as an art form and live performance entertainment.
The announcements were made ahead of his live performance show, “Insomnia – Wake Up Into The Dream,” scheduled for September 6 at the Sheikh Rashid Auditorium in Dubai.
