Bengaluru: The makers of Loka: Chapter One have announced that they will alter certain dialogues in the film following allegations that the content hurt Kannada sentiments. Dulquer Salmaan’s production house, Wayfarer Films, issued an official statement on Wednesday expressing regret and promising corrective action.
Makers Issue Public Apology
Wayfarer Films clarified that the dialogues in question were never intended to offend. The company admitted the lapse, saying:
“It has come to our attention that a character’s dialogue in the film Our World: Chapter One – Chandra has unintentionally hurt the sentiments of the people of Karnataka. Wayfarer Films values people above all else. We deeply regret the lapse we have caused.”
The team further assured that the dialogue will be removed or edited at the earliest, and extended a sincere apology to the public.
Respecting Regional Sentiments
In its official statement shared on social media, the production house added:
“We do not intend to hurt anyone. The conversation in question will be removed or edited as soon as possible. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. We humbly request that you accept our apology.”
The move comes after sections of the audience in Karnataka expressed disappointment over the dialogue, urging the filmmakers to address the issue responsibly.
