Coastal humidity and afternoon cloud formations are set to affect parts of the country through Sunday morning.
ABU DHABI, Aug 28, 2026:The UAE’s National Centre of Meteorology has issued a weekend weather outlook forecasting fair to partly cloudy conditions across the country, with rain-bearing convective cloud formations expected over eastern regions on Saturday afternoon.
Atmospheric conditions will gradually shift towards higher coastal humidity overnight into Sunday morning, alongside moderate wind activity capable of stirring localized dust.
Data released by the meteorological authority indicates surface winds will blow from the southeast to northeast. While general speeds are projected to range between 10 km/h and 25 km/h, intermittent gusts could hit 40 km/h during peak afternoon hours. The elevated wind speeds are expected to reduce horizontal visibility in open inland and desert stretches.
Sea conditions across both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman will remain generally slight throughout the forecast period. The NCM detailed coastal tidal patterns to assist maritime operations and beachgoers:
- Arabian Gulf: High tides are expected at 2:34 PM and 1:53 AM, with low tides recorded at 8:06 AM and 7:46 PM.
- Sea of Oman: High tides will occur at 10:32 AM and 10:48 PM, while low tides are scheduled for 4:48 PM and 4:41 AM.
Residents in eastern mountainous terrain should anticipate localized afternoon cloud activity that may bring isolated showers, while coastal populations are advised to prepare for muggy conditions overnight into Sunday.
