National Centre of Meteorology tracks convective cloud activity over eastern areas through Friday alongside reduced visibility and rough western seas
ABU DHABI, Sept 1: Parts of the United Arab Emirates are set for a spell of unsettled weather this week, with convective clouds expected to bring afternoon rainfall to eastern areas through Friday alongside morning fog and blowing dust, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said Tuesday.
The meteorological authority reported that the country will experience fair to partly cloudy skies, with conditions turning unstable during the afternoon hours across eastern regions as localized convective cloud formations trigger rainfall. Daytime temperatures are projected to edge downward across several districts, with the most noticeable relief expected in western regions.
Maximum temperatures in Dubai are forecast to hit 43°C with overnight lows of 31°C, while Abu Dhabi is set to record a high of 41°C and a low of 28°C. Inland areas will remain the warmest, with Liwa reaching up to 45°C and Al Ain touching 44°C.
High relative humidity will build overnight, raising the likelihood of fog and mist formation across coastal and interior corridors during the early hours of Wednesday. Winds will remain light to moderate overall but will freshen at times to speeds of around 40 km/h, particularly over western maritime channels where sea conditions are forecast to turn rough.
The unsettled weather pattern is expected to recur on Wednesday and Thursday afternoon, characterized by repeated cloud buildup in the east, isolated showers, and localized blowing dust that could reduce horizontal visibility on open motorways.
The NCM expects similar conditions through Friday, with persistent chances of afternoon rain eastward and hazy periods during the day. Marine navigation in the Arabian Gulf is advised to exercise caution westward due to intermittent rough seas, while the Sea of Oman is forecast to remain slight to moderate.
