In a bold industry first, the leader of the UAE’s fastest-growing fresh food brand subjects himself to a live polygraph test to prove iD’s zero-chemical, zero-preservative promise.

DUBAI, UAE, 02nd September 2026 : In an era where consumers are increasingly skeptical of corporate marketing claims, iD Fresh Food Co-founder and Global CEO PC Musthafa has put his brand’s clean-label promise to an unconventional, literal test. Musthafa underwent a live, 30-minute polygraph (lie detector) session, answering raw, unfiltered questions about the brand’s ingredients, supply chain, and business ethics while strapped to a polygraph machine.

The session hosted by entrepreneur and IIM Bangalore alumnus Deepu Chandran, took place before an audience of over 1,000 business leaders, investors, and entrepreneurs. The session explored whether iD Fresh stands by its commitment to producing food without artificial preservatives, synthetic stabilisers and other artificial ingredients.

Commenting on the initiative, PC Musthafa, Global CEO and Co-Founder of iD Fresh Food, said, “Taking a lie detector test might seem extreme for a food company, but when you are entering people’s kitchens and nourishing their families, your honesty must be absolute. With this step, we wanted to establish that iD Fresh Food is completely devoted to making food exactly how our parents and grandparents did: in a kitchen, not in a laboratory. If we are clean enough to be upfront on our packaging, we must be clean enough to pass a polygraph.”

Why this matters to the consumers across the GCC region

While the physical polygraph test was conducted in India, its message and implications resonate profoundly across the GCC. The UAE serves as the strategic hub for iD Fresh’s international operations, already contributing nearly a third of the brand’s global business.

The popularity and adoption of iD Fresh in the region have been nothing short of phenomenal. Gulf consumers are leading a massive global shift toward fresh, clean-label convenience. In the UAE, a staggering two-thirds of consumers actively purchase fresh, packaged batter from retail shelves, a massive leap compared to just 10% in traditional home markets like Bengaluru. This fast-paced, highly discerning expat and local demographic is exceptionally health-conscious and increasingly willing to pay a premium for genuine freshness and clean-label integrity.

But as iD Fresh’s footprint rapidly expands across the GCC, supported by its dedicated, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in the UAE, its core promise remains completely unchanged. Wherever iD goes, its promise remains unchanged: clean-label food, with nothing unnecessary.

At iD Fresh Food, clean label is an uncompromising standard. That means no preservatives, no artificial colours, no artificial flavours, no emulsifiers, no stabilisers, no raising agents, no anti-caking agents, and no unnecessary chemicals. More importantly, we apply this standard not just to our finished products, but to every ingredient that goes into making them.

“Trust is the ultimate currency in the food industry. For years, families have been forced to act like detectives in the grocery aisle, squinting at fine print to figure out what they are actually feeding their children. At iD Fresh, we have always believed that if your food is clean, your label should be too. This is why we recently took the bold step of moving our entire ingredient list to the absolute front of our packaging.” Mr. Musthafa added

As iD Fresh continues to rapidly expand its footprint across the GCC, supported by its dedicated, high-tech manufacturing facility in the UAE, this initiative reinforces the brand’s zero-compromise ethos. By bringing ingredients to the front of the pack and answering to a polygraph, iD Fresh Food is championing a consumer’s fundamental right to know the absolute truth about what they eat.
