Dubai, UAE – In a strategic move to enhance service efficiency and legal compliance, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) recently conducted a virtual workshop titled “Legal Aspects for Licensing Service Providers.” Held on September 11, 2025, the workshop aimed to clarify key rights, obligations, and legislative responsibilities for employees involved in handling power of attorney, vehicle registration, and number plate transactions at service centres.
The session brought together 69 employees from various RTA service centres along with staff from the Transaction Monitoring Section at the Licensing Agency. Shehab Hamad Bu Shehab, Executive Director of Legal Affairs at RTA, underscored the workshop’s role in promoting legal awareness and professional conduct. He emphasized that understanding and applying Dubai Government’s human resources policies, along with strict adherence to the law, is essential to delivering high-quality, ethical services to customers.
During the workshop, participants explored critical topics such as their personal accountability in preserving the reputation of public service, executing delegated tasks effectively, and ensuring confidentiality in handling sensitive data. The discussions delved into the proper use of seals, safeguarding transactions, and accurate data entry practices. Employees engaged actively, appreciating the in-depth guidance on handling original documents, verifying signatures, and processing No Objection Certificates (NOCs) in alignment with government protocols.

The comprehensive training also covered practical operational standards, including how to identify and rectify invalid transactions, maintain proper archiving, and ensure legal protection for employees performing their duties. The session reinforced the importance of upholding ethics appropriate to individual roles while promoting impartiality and professionalism in customer interactions.
As the UAE continues to advance its digital government initiatives, this workshop reflects RTA’s commitment to continuous staff development, aligning operational practices with international standards and ensuring customer-centric services that meet stringent legal requirements.
