Abu Dhabi, UAE – The United Arab Emirates has taken a firm stance against Israel’s recent military action targeting the State of Qatar, summoning the Israeli Deputy Head of Mission, David Ohad Horsandi, to express strong condemnation. Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, called the attack reckless and unjustifiable, characterizing it as a flagrant breach of Qatar’s sovereignty and a serious violation of international law.
Minister Al Hashimy emphasized that the attack constitutes not only a direct affront to Qatar’s independence but also a grave escalation that undermines peace and security in the region and beyond. She described the aggressive act as irresponsible, highlighting that such provocations destabilize the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) framework, of which Qatar and the UAE are key members.
“Any aggression against a GCC member state constitutes an attack on the collective Gulf security framework,” said Minister Al Hashimy. She further stressed that the hostile statements made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in conjunction with the attack worsen the situation, pushing the region toward dangerous instability and conflict. According to the Minister, this aggressive posture and incendiary rhetoric solidify a scenario that is unacceptable and must not be ignored by the international community.
This diplomatic move follows growing tensions in the Gulf region as Israel expands its diplomatic relations and security cooperation with several Arab states, raising concerns about regional security dynamics.
