To promote a spirit of sportsmanship and a healthy lifestyle among employees, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) Dubai organised its first-ever virtual cycling race.
The competition was held in collaboration with the virtual cycling platform MyWhoosh and took place at the Directorate’s headquarters. The event drew enthusiastic participation, with Director General Lt. General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Deputy Director General Major General Obaid Muhair Bin Suroor, and other officials present to witness the races.

The sporting initiative successfully combined modern technology with physical activity, offering participants a unique experience of cycling through tracks across the world via virtual reality.
The main objectives of the event were to enhance physical fitness, encourage friendly competition, and ensure mental well-being among employees.
GDRFA officials confirmed that more innovative programmes of this kind will be organised in the future to further strengthen employee welfare and promote a healthy work environment.
