Dubai – Residents across the UAE can expect slightly more comfortable conditions on Saturday, September 20, as the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecasts a drop in night-time temperatures. According to experts, this marks the start of the gradual transition toward cooler weather in the region.

Ibrahim Al Jarwan, Chairman of the Emirates Astronomy Society and a member of the Arab Union for Space Sciences and Astronomy, said that beginning September 20, night temperatures are expected to fall below 25ºC. However, daytime heat will persist, with highs reaching 40ºC in Abu Dhabi and 39ºC in Dubai.

Early on Saturday, the NCM issued a yellow fog alert, warning of reduced visibility in parts of Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Abu Dhabi Police urged motorists to drive cautiously, adhere to traffic rules, and follow changing speed limits displayed on electronic signboards.

By night, conditions are expected to turn humid, particularly in western regions, with the possibility of mist or fog formation extending into Sunday morning. The weather department said skies will remain fair to partly cloudy, with occasional cloud cover in the eastern and northern areas.

Light to moderate southeasterly to northeasterly winds will blow across the country, at speeds of 10–25 km/h, freshening at times to reach up to 35 km/h. The Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea are expected to remain slight, ensuring stable marine conditions.
