Joint initiative by MSS and PILSS, approved by the Community Development Authority, will offer pro bono legal counsel, mental health support, and complimentary shuttle services in Rashidiya.
DUBAI, Sept. 28, 2026 Expatriates in the United Arab Emirates facing domestic disputes, marital litigation, and custody matters can now access pro bono legal counsel and psychological support at an upcoming community legal clinic in Dubai, organizers announced on Monday.
Registrations opened on Monday for a large-scale pro bono family legal clinic designed to assist expatriates navigating domestic, marital, and civil legal challenges in the UAE.
The day-long clinic, titled “Family Justice Fair,” takes place on Sunday, October 18, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM at Pace British School in Rashidiya, Dubai. The community outreach is organized jointly by the Model Service Society (MSS) and the Pravasi Indian Legal Service Society (PILSS), under official permit from the Dubai Government’s Community Development Authority (CDA).
The clinic aligns with the UAE’s Year of the Family initiatives, aimed at promoting household stability, social cohesion, and accessible justice across diverse demographic communities.
Licensed UAE advocates, legal consultants, and qualified mental health practitioners from the ‘Hope of Life’ team will provide one-on-one sessions at no cost. The advisory scope spans personal status law, contentious divorce, maintenance and alimony claims, child custody, domestic abuse, elder care, and juvenile welfare. Alongside courtroom legalities, qualified psychologists will run parallel counseling and mediation desks for couples, parents, and children struggling with stress, trauma, or domestic discord.
To ensure physical accessibility for low- and middle-income workers, organizers have partnered with Bello Transport to operate complimentary shuttle connections throughout the day between the nearest Dubai Metro station and the venue.
Registration officially commenced during an executive session at the Dubai MSS Hall, where MSS General Secretary Shajil Shoukath launched the public portal. The meeting was presided over by Adv. Mohammed Sajid, General Convener of the clinic.
“Legal proceedings and family disputes often carry prohibitive costs and emotional isolation for expatriates living far from extended support systems,” organizers noted during the launch. “Bringing legal advocates and certified psychologists under one roof ensures that families receive balanced legal remedies and emotional guidance without financial friction.”
The launch assembly included Adv. Azeez Tholery, Convener of the Legal Panel; Adv. Girija, Counselors’ Panel Convener; Arun Sundar Raj, Secretary of PILSS; alongside community leaders Abdul Jabbar, Shamsudheen Ahmed, Banu Shams, Shameem, Ijaz, Thanseer, Basheer, and Sameer. Al Nishaj Shahul, General Secretary of PILSS, welcomed the gathering, and Umar T.V. delivered the vote of thanks.
