The third Hafiz Al Quran Award recognises top achievers, highlighting the emirate’s broader community drive that certified hundreds of students over the past year.
SHARJAH, United Arab Emirates — Eighty-five students from the Sharjah Noble Quran and Sunnah Establishment received formal recognition on Tuesday evening after completing full memorisation of the Holy Quran and passing rigorous certification standards.
The third annual “Hafiz Al Quran Award for Students of the Establishment” took place at the Holy Quran Academy in Sharjah, bringing together board officials, instructors, and families to celebrate students who earned their formal memorisation credentials during the 2025 academic cycle.
The ceremony opened with the UAE national anthem and Quranic recitations, followed by an institutional retrospective profiling recent educational initiatives across the emirate.
Sultan Matar bin Dalmouk, Chairman of the Board of Directors, presented the honours alongside Director Omar Al Shamsi and board member Aisha Al Huwaidi. Bin Dalmouk pointed to the sustained backing of H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, whose focus on cultural and religious scholarship underpins Sharjah’s learning networks.
The institution’s outreach has scaled sharply across public mosques, private centres, and affiliated schools. Enrolment in the establishment’s mosque-based Quran study circles stands above 36,000 learners, with an additional 18,000 students registered across supervised private institutions and schools throughout Sharjah.
During the previous operational year, 715 students completed full memorisation of the Quran across the network, with 329 learners sitting for formal panel examinations to receive full certification as qualified memorisers. Study circles recorded a cumulative total of approximately 45,000 individual juz’ (sections) memorised across all participating age groups.
The annual award program aims to encourage disciplined recitation, retain high educational benchmarks across mosque study circles, and sustain engagement among both citizen and resident families throughout the emirate.
