Ministry of Foreign Affairs terms the attack on Saudi Arabia’s Taiba distribution station a direct threat to regional stability
ABU DHABI — The United Arab Emirates has issued a firm condemnation following a Houthi drone strike on the Taiba power distribution station in Madinah, calling the incident a blatant breach of Saudi sovereignty and regional security.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) confirmed the position on Thursday night, emphasizing that attacks aimed at vital civilian infrastructure pose severe risks to stability across the Arabian Peninsula.
Abu Dhabi reaffirmed its full alignment with Riyadh, reiterating that the Emirates backs every operational and security measure Saudi authorities undertake to protect their territory, citizens, and residents.
The strike targeted the Taiba facility, an installation providing power across the Madinah region. Houthi cross-border attempts against energy and utility assets inside Saudi Arabia have repeatedly drawn international scrutiny for endangering civilian life and disrupting public utility networks.
The foreign ministry stressed that the security of the UAE and Saudi Arabia remains indivisible. Any threat directed against the Kingdom is treated as a direct challenge to the shared security architecture established among Gulf Cooperation Council states.
Diplomatic officials called on regional and international partners to hold the perpetrators accountable, warning that sustained aggression against critical utilities undermines ongoing diplomatic efforts to de-escalate regional tensions.
Saudi civil and defense agencies routinely monitor regional airspace to intercept incoming unmanned aerial systems. Authorities have not released specific damage assessments or operational disruption figures for the Taiba station.
