RAS AL KHAIMAH: The proposed crematorium for the Indian community in Ras Al Khaimah has been named “Eternal Gardens,” marking a significant step towards the establishment of a dedicated multi-faith cremation facility in the emirate.
The name was finalized in the presence of H.E. Dr. E. Vishnuvardhan Reddy, Consul General of India in Dubai, during a reception hosted by the Ras Al Khaimah Indian Relief Committee (IRC) at RAK Hotel on September 22, 2026.
Dr. Reddy expressed his gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, and the Government of Ras Al Khaimah for allocating land for the project and supporting the Indian diaspora.
The Government has allocated the land in Al Jazirah Al Hamrah, Ras Al Khaimah for the proposed crematorium, “Eternal Gardens”.
A core committee comprising representatives from various Indian community organizations has been entrusted with overseeing the construction, administration and future maintenance of the facility.
The committee, led by the Indian Relief Committee, comprises Dr. Nisham Noorudeen, Padmaraj, Sreedharan Prasad, Anil Vidyadharan, Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Supriya Ghosh, Pradeep Varma and Nasser Aldhana.
The committee will be responsible for coordinating the development of the facility and ensuring its administration and upkeep once operational.
The proposed Eternal Gardens is expected to provide a dedicated cremation facility for members of the Indian diaspora and other nationalities in Ras Al Khaimah and other emirates, while accommodating the requirements of different faiths and communities.
The project is being undertaken with the support of the Ras Al Khaimah authorities and the participation of Indian community organizations, reflecting a collective effort to establish a permanent facility for families in times of bereavement.
