Interactive sessions at CDA facility focus on government service access, quality of life, and social integration for elderly residents.
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates —Immigration officials met face-to-face with senior citizens in Dubai this week to simplify government procedures, address welfare needs, and improve daily service access as part of a joint community outreach initiative.
The session, organized by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA Dubai) in partnership with the Community Development Authority (CDA), took place at a CDA center under the theme “Sense of Responsibility and Impact on Society.”

Rather than routing seniors through standard administrative channels, officers sat down with attendees to hear practical concerns, gather direct feedback, and explain accessible pathways for residency, documentation, and care services.
The initiative focused on easing daily bureaucratic requirements for older adults while providing tailored advice on accessing Dubai’s social welfare ecosystems. Officials guided attendees on how to utilize specialized services, bypass common procedural hurdles, and tap into dedicated public support programs designed for the elderly.
Honoring seniors forms a cornerstone of Emirati societal values. The gathering brought government representatives directly into community spaces, creating open discussions where seniors shared their priorities, lived experiences, and day-to-day administrative challenges.
GDRFA representatives reaffirmed that maintaining ongoing, personal contact with older members of the community remains an institutional priority. Ensuring the welfare and dignity of senior residents requires continuous evaluation of how public bodies deliver frontline services.
At the close of the event, officials distributed commemorative gifts, spoke individually with participants, and took group photographs with community members.
The joint initiative reflects Dubai’s broader social development policy, which directs public entities to design barrier-free services and ensure elderly citizens receive proactive institutional support.
