Round-the-clock heavy vehicle bans, daytime restrictions on labour buses, and dedicated park-and-ride shuttles will take effect across Abu Dhabi Island next week.

ABU DHABI, Oct 29, 2026 : Authorities in Abu Dhabi have rolled out a comprehensive traffic management strategy ahead of the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC 2026), placing strict restrictions on heavy trucks and labour buses while limiting venue parking strictly to permit holders.

The Integrated Transport Centre, operating under Abu Dhabi Mobility, announced that non-permit parking at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi) will be prohibited during the four-day event running from Monday, November 2, to Thursday, November 5. General attendees must use designated park-and-ride shuttle services to reach the venue.

Under the revised road regulations, truck movements across Abu Dhabi Island face a round-the-clock ban starting at midnight on Monday through Thursday evening. Labour buses will be restricted daily between 6:30 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. over the same period.

Logistics support transport and municipal cleaning vehicles are entirely exempt from the truck and bus curbs, allowing essential utility operations to continue uninterrupted.

Held under the patronage of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and hosted by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), ADIPEC stands as one of the world’s premier gatherings for the global energy sector. This year’s edition is projected to draw 239,000 visitors from upwards of 170 nations, featuring over 2,250 exhibiting firms, 1,800 industry speakers, and 30 international pavilions.

The temporary movement curbs aim to relieve arterial pressure on major thoroughfares leading to the exhibition grounds, preventing gridlock as high-level ministerial delegations, chief executives, and thousands of trade visitors descend on the capital.

Motorists and logistics operators have been advised to adjust delivery schedules and plan routes around peak conference hours.
