Administrations of public and private schools implementing the Ministry of Education curriculum in Dubai have stressed the need for full compliance with the approved school uniform, warning that violations will be addressed under the Student Behaviour Policy without leniency.
In circulars sent to parents and students, schools clarified that wearing coloured hoodies or jackets within school premises is strictly prohibited. Students are required to adhere to the official uniform design specified for each educational stage, in line with the “Comprehensive School Uniform Guide for Public School Students” issued by the Ministry of Education.
The guidelines emphasise maintaining a neat and tidy appearance, wearing flat and fully closed black shoes with white socks, and limiting sports shoes to physical education classes only. Male students must wear white garments under the Emirati kandura, with the agal remaining optional, while Cycle Three female students are required to wear a shayla in black, white or navy, in accordance with approved uniform standards.
School administrations confirmed that periodic inspections will be conducted to ensure compliance, noting that school uniforms play an important educational role by promoting discipline, responsibility, equality and a sense of belonging among students. These measures are also aimed at minimising negative behaviours that may disrupt the learning process.
Schools highlighted that cooperation between parents and educational institutions is essential to creating a safe, organised and productive learning environment that enhances academic achievement and reinforces respect for rules and regulations.
