Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday welcomed His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, upon his arrival in New Delhi, marking another significant moment in the growing partnership between India and the UAE.
The UAE President was received at Palam Air Base with a red-carpet welcome, underscoring the importance India places on its ties with the Gulf nation. Taking to social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi described Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed as a “brother” and said the visit highlighted the strong friendship shared by the two countries. He added that he looked forward to discussions aimed at further strengthening cooperation.
As part of the welcome, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed attended a cultural programme featuring Indian dance performances accompanied by traditional musical instruments, offering a glimpse into India’s rich cultural heritage.
The visit comes at a time when India-UAE relations are witnessing strong momentum, driven by frequent leadership-level engagements and expanding cooperation across economic, strategic and cultural domains. Trade, investment, defence collaboration and cultural exchange remain key pillars of the bilateral relationship.
The working visit follows a series of recent high-level exchanges, including the visit of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to India in September 2024 and the April visit of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Deputy Prime Minister.
With strong political will on both sides, the visit is expected to further consolidate the India-UAE partnership and chart new avenues for collaboration in the years ahead.
