The United Arab Emirates has welcomed the trilateral talks held in Abu Dhabi between leaders of Russia, Ukraine, and the United States aimed at ending the ongoing Ukraine war. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the discussions could play a constructive role in bringing an end to the humanitarian crises and conflicts that have persisted for nearly four years.
UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed hope that the trilateral dialogue would help pave the way for clear and practical steps toward peace. He stated that the UAE’s role in hosting the talks reflects the international community’s confidence in the country’s leadership and its balanced approach to supporting peace for the peoples of both nations and transforming challenges into meaningful opportunities.
Sheikh Abdullah also praised the initiative taken by US President Donald Trump in facilitating the discussions. He noted that the UAE maintains strong partnerships with all three countries involved and firmly believes that sustainable solutions to conflicts can only be achieved through dialogue and diplomatic engagement.
The talks in Abu Dhabi focused on the terms of the peace proposal put forward by President Trump to bring an end to the war between Russia and Ukraine, with the United States acting as a mediator. The UAE has already played a significant humanitarian role in the conflict, successfully mediating more than 17 prisoner exchange efforts between Russia and Ukraine.
