Shah Rukh Khan has confirmed the release date of his upcoming action drama King, unveiling a gripping announcement video that showcases the film’s dark and intense tone. The Bollywood superstar revealed that the film will arrive in theatres on December 24, 2026.
The announcement video opens with visually arresting frames, including the bold title “ROAR” and the chilling tagline, “This Christmas, fear wears the crown.” Shah Rukh Khan is seen in a commanding and violent avatar, dressed in a torn white shirt, with blood on his face, reinforcing the film’s gritty action-driven narrative.
Sharing the announcement online, the actor wrote, “#KING is Ready to ROAR on 24.12.2026 in Cinemas,” igniting excitement among fans worldwide.
The title video of King was first released on Shah Rukh Khan’s 60th birthday in November last year. The teaser featured dramatic aerial shots of an island facility, accompanied by a powerful monologue suggesting that SRK plays a feared mercenary with a mysterious past.
Backed by Red Chillies Entertainment, King features an ensemble cast including Deepika Padukone, Suhana Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat. With its scale, cast and intense visuals, the film is expected to be one of the biggest Bollywood releases of 2026.
