President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed’s visit anchors major private-sector deals spanning clean energy, transport, aviation, and food security, including agreements signed by retail giant LuLu Group
MUNICH — The United Arab Emirates and Germany signed 30 bilateral agreements across priority industries during a high-profile business forum convened in Munich, marking a significant expansion of economic cooperation between Abu Dhabi and Berlin.
The UAE-Germany Business Forum, held on the sidelines of the official visit by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, drew senior cabinet officials, institutional investors, and corporate leaders from both countries.
Addressing delegates, Sheikh Mohamed underscored the critical role of private enterprise in advancing the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership. Deepening direct investment flows and commercial tie-ups will accelerate growth in sectors fundamental to both economies, the UAE President stated.
The 30 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) cover key industrial and infrastructure segments, including energy infrastructure, logistics, ground and maritime transport, aviation, agriculture, food security, and consumer retail goods.
Among the commercial agreements finalized in the Bavarian capital, Abu Dhabi-headquartered retailer LuLu Group entered into two separate pacts with German suppliers. Signed by LuLu Group Chairman M.A. Yusuff Ali, the contracts establish direct sourcing pipelines to supply German packaged foods and agricultural commodities to LuLu’s hypermarket network across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
Senior German economic officials and UAE ministerial delegates attended the signing sessions, emphasizing joint initiatives aimed at securing supply chains, integrating industrial technology, and facilitating bilateral capital investments.
