In a strategic move to future-proof government employment, General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai (GDRFA Dubai) organised a specialised Innovation Lab focused on building an inclusive, transparent, and high-performance work environment.

The event, hosted at the GDRFA headquarters, was conducted under the theme “Inclusive Workplaces… Excellence Through Diversity.” Officials from GDRFA and representatives from multiple Dubai government entities participated in collaborative discussions aimed at enhancing talent attraction, retention, and workforce empowerment.

Major General Awad Mohammed Al Humairi, Assistant Director General of Human Resources and Financial Affairs, stated that the initiative reflects Dubai’s leadership vision of fostering equality, meritocracy, and innovation in government institutions. He noted that adopting advanced talent management frameworks is key to sustaining organisational excellence and employee engagement.

The Innovation Lab addressed critical themes including institutional governance, impact measurement, equitable empowerment, and readiness for digital transformation. Participants explored practical approaches to prepare employees for future challenges while ensuring fairness and opportunity across all roles.

Brigadier Samad Hussein Sulaiman Al Baloushi, who evaluated the sessions, recommended further analytical studies to support the effective execution of the proposed ideas. GDRFA Dubai confirmed that the outcomes of the lab will soon be implemented through new initiatives, supporting the UAE’s broader vision for a competitive and sustainable government workforce.
