Sharjah: The Indian community in the United Arab Emirates has reaffirmed its strong solidarity and gratitude towards the UAE and its leadership, describing the country as a cherished second home for generations of Indians living in the Emirates.

In a statement issued for press and media publication, Nissar Thalangara, President of the Indian Association Sharjah (IAS), said the Indian community continues to feel safe and secure across the UAE even during challenging times. He praised the UAE authorities for their comprehensive safety measures, inclusive policies, and proactive initiatives aimed at protecting residents from diverse nationalities.

He emphasized that members of the Indian community are not in distress and there is no general repatriation of Indians to India. According to him, the only individuals currently returning to India are those on visit visas who are leaving due to technical reasons.

Thalangara also expressed appreciation for the support extended by the Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of India in Dubai, acknowledging their continued engagement in assisting Indian nationals whenever required.

As part of its commitment to social responsibility, Indian Association Sharjah is organizing multiple blood donation camps in coordination with the Department of Health and other relevant authorities to support emergency medical requirements and contribute to the wellbeing of society.

He further expressed gratitude to the visionary leadership of the UAE, praying for the continued health and wellbeing of His Highness the President of the UAE, the Vice President, the Ruler of Sharjah, and the rulers of all the Emirates.

Thalangara also noted that during a recent meeting with His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, along with Dr. M. A. Yusuffali, Chairman of Lulu Group International, the ruler kindly enquired about the safety and wellbeing of the Indian community in the UAE. On the occasion, Dr. Yusuffali conveyed the community’s heartfelt appreciation for the care, support, and protection extended by the leadership of Sharjah and the UAE.

The Indian community, he said, remains deeply touched by this gesture and will continue to stand firmly with the UAE, supporting the nation’s prosperity and wellbeing.
