Dubai: Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has achieved several prestigious international ISO certifications, reinforcing its leadership in organisational resilience, information security, and asset and technology management.
The authority obtained the ISO 22316 certification for Organisational Resilience, recognising its strong capability to manage crises and unexpected challenges through an integrated management system. The certification highlights RTA’s ability to ensure rapid crisis response, business continuity, and sustainable institutional growth.

This global standard provides a comprehensive framework that enables organisations to anticipate risks, respond effectively to emergencies, recover quickly, and continuously improve performance. According to RTA officials, the certification strengthens public confidence and further enhances the organisation’s reputation.
With this achievement, RTA becomes the first transport entity in the Middle East and North Africa to receive the ISO 22316 certification, marking a significant milestone in its journey of innovation and governance in the transport sector.
In addition, RTA also secured the ISO 19650 certification across all parts (1–5) for implementing Building Information Modelling (BIM). According to documentation by the British Standards Institution (BSI), RTA is the first entity worldwide to receive the certification covering all sections of the standard.
The certification focuses on the management of asset information throughout the entire lifecycle, from planning and design to implementation, operation, maintenance, and eventual rehabilitation or decommissioning. It supports improved project management efficiency, sustainability, safety, and better decision-making.
RTA officials said the achievement also supports the adoption of advanced technologies such as digital twin systems and smart city solutions. BIM provides an integrated digital ecosystem using data-rich 3D models that enhance coordination, reduce risks and costs, and improve project delivery across the infrastructure lifecycle.
The certification was granted following rigorous audits, making it a reliable indicator of the high standards of systems and procedures used by RTA in managing infrastructure and transport projects.
