Dubai: The grand finale of the third edition of the Sayyid Hamid Koyamma Thangal Memorial Holy Quran Award Qur’an Recitation Competition was held at the Dubai Sunni Centre Auditorium on Saturday night, bringing together a spiritually uplifting gathering of community members and Qur’an recitation enthusiasts.

The event concluded at 9 p.m., highlighting an evening filled with devotion, talent, and reverence for the Holy Qur’an. Participants showcased impressive recitation skills, captivating the audience with their melodious and heartfelt performances.
Muhammad Bilal from Ajman won the first prize, while Mohammed Midlaj from Abu Dhabi secured the second prize. The third prize was awarded to Muhammed Fayiz.
The prizes were presented by Abdul Jaleel Darimi, and the winners were officially announced by Sakkeer Husain Thangal.
The judging panel included Al Hafiz Dr. Hazm Hamza, Engineer Muneeb, and Al Hafiz Shareef, who evaluated the finalists’ performances with expertise and dedication to ensure a fair and inspiring competition.
The event began with a welcome address by Shaukath Ali Hudawi, while Husain Darimi delivered the vote of thanks.
Several prominent community members attended the event, including Sayyid Nabhan Thangal, P.P. Ibrahim Faizy, Ismail Haji, Yusuf Haji, K.T. Abdul Kader Maulavi, Jamal Haji, Hassan Ramanthali, Shameem Pannur, M.A. Salam Rahmani, Riyas Ash’ary, Fazil Mettammal, Saeed Thalipparamb, Kabeer As’adi, Noushad Wayanad, Salam Vettathur, Sefeer, Jaleel Edakkulam, and Rafeeq Ethirthod.
The competition once again highlighted the growing enthusiasm for Qur’an recitation and Islamic learning among the community, while honoring the legacy of Sayyid Hamid Koyamma Thangal.
