As part of its strategic expansion across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, Blue Ocean Corporation—globally recognised as the world’s leading organisation in supply chain training and consulting—has inaugurated its new office in Cairo, Egypt. Marking the milestone, the company also hosted its first International Procurement & Supply Chain Conference (IPSC) in the Egyptian capital.
The Cairo office represents a significant addition to Blue Ocean Corporation’s global footprint, which already spans the UAE, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, and major cities across India. The IPSC Egypt edition continues the legacy of previous conferences successfully held in the UAE, Riyadh, Qatar, India, and the UK.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Satyam Menon, Group CEO of Blue Ocean Corporation, said the conference highlighted Egypt’s readiness to play a larger role in global supply chains. “The energy of the participants, diversity of ideas, and strong industry engagement clearly position Egypt as an emerging force in international trade,” he noted.
Held under the theme “Reinventing the New Trade Equation: From Egypt to the World,” the conference brought together more than 1,000 delegates representing over 400 organisations. Participants came from a wide range of sectors including logistics, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, energy, retail, agriculture, technology, and government-linked industries.
In his keynote address, Dr. Menon described supply chains as the “economic nervous system of the 21st century.” He emphasised that global challenges—ranging from geopolitics and inflation to sustainability—are deeply rooted in supply chain dynamics. Citing disruptions such as Red Sea tensions, the Ever Given blockage in the Suez Canal, and the Ukraine war, he noted that supply chains have moved from being support functions to becoming central to boardroom decision-making.
Commenting on the Egypt expansion, Blue Ocean Corporation Group Chairman Abdul Aziz said the Cairo office reflects the company’s long-term commitment to the country. “At a time when supply chain transformation is accelerating in Egypt, we are proud to contribute through talent development, industry growth, and long-term capacity building,” he said.
The IPSC series has previously received accolades from global leaders, including UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, and has featured participation from senior international policymakers and industry leaders.
Headquartered in London, Blue Ocean Corporation is the only organisation in the training sector to be recognised as a ‘Superbrand’. With over 28 years of legacy, a global alumni network exceeding 500,000 professionals, more than 2,500 corporate partnerships, and over 30 international awards, the organisation continues to strengthen its mission of advancing supply chain education and professional empowerment worldwide. The success of IPSC Cairo further reinforces Egypt’s growing role on the global supply chain map.
