ABU DHABI — The United Arab Emirates has officially welcomed the multi-nation joint statement on Sudan, reaffirming its steadfast commitment to supporting a peaceful, stable, and democratic future for the Sudanese people.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the UAE commended ongoing international and regional diplomatic interventions. This includes the strategic outcomes of the recent Berlin Conference, which strongly called for an immediate cessation of hostilities and the establishment of a comprehensive, civilian-led political process.
Strategic Support for Humanitarian Truce
The UAE reiterated its full backing for all diplomatic tracks aimed at securing an immediate humanitarian truce, leading toward a permanent ceasefire. As the conflict continues to impact millions, Abu Dhabi emphasized the urgent need to alleviate humanitarian suffering, ensure the robust protection of civilians, and guarantee the unhindered delivery of vital relief assistance to affected regions.
Backing the Quintet’s Peace Initiatives
Highlighting the importance of regional mediation, the UAE welcomed the latest endeavors of the Quintet group. This includes the pivotal diplomatic consultations held in Addis Ababa from June 3 to 5, 2026. These meetings focused on laying the groundwork for a proposed preparatory committee, which is tasked with organizing a comprehensive, inclusive Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue.
