Dubai will host the 12th edition of the World Green Economy Summit (WGES) on October 21 and 22 at the Dubai World Trade Centre under the theme “From Success to Scale: Showcasing the Green Economy.”
Held under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the summit is organised by the World Green Economy Organisation, the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, and Dubai Electricity and Water Authority.
The summit will bring together policymakers, business leaders, investors, academics, and experts in sustainability, resilience, and infrastructure to discuss practical solutions for accelerating the global transition to a low-carbon economy.
Organisers said the event will focus on scaling proven green economy models and strengthening the link between economic growth and environmental sustainability through innovative and actionable solutions.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, MD and CEO of DEWA, and Chairman of WGEO, said the World Green Economy Summit has established itself as a leading international platform for advancing climate dialogue and fostering global cooperation in sustainability.
He noted that since its launch, the summit has supported Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid’s vision of positioning Dubai as a global hub for future-focused solutions and strategic partnerships that drive climate action and sustainable development.
Al Tayer said this year’s summit comes at a pivotal stage in the global green transition, where sustainable technologies and innovative business models are already delivering measurable results and economic value.
WGES 2026 will focus on accelerating the deployment of climate solutions and expanding successful sustainability initiatives across multiple sectors to strengthen resilience and support economic growth.
The summit will address four key pillars: energy technology and infrastructure, business strategy and transition, water and food security, and green finance.
In addition, discussions will explore cross-sector themes including artificial intelligence, governance, supply chains, and the circular economy, highlighting their role in enabling sustainable development and climate action.
Organisers said the event will showcase how the green transition is already taking shape through innovations in clean energy, sustainable infrastructure, water management, food security, and climate finance, while reinforcing the UAE’s leadership in global sustainability efforts.
