Dubai: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has announced the launch of a new edition of the prestigious Dubai International Holy Quran Award (DIHQA).
Making the announcement on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Sheikh Mohammed stated that the award will once again embark on a global search to discover “the world’s most beautiful Quranic voices.” The selected reciters will be honoured during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan, where congregations will also have the opportunity to pray behind them.
“By the grace and guidance of Allah, today we launch the new edition of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award,” Sheikh Mohammed wrote. He beautifully described the Holy Quran as “light, guidance, and mercy,” reaffirming Dubai’s long-standing dedication to honouring those who commit the holy book to memory.
This year marks the continuation of a noble tradition that Dubai has proudly upheld for 29 years. “We have been celebrating Quran memorizers for 29 years, and, God willing, we will continue on this path and this journey. We ask Allah to accept our good deeds and yours,” the Dubai Ruler added.
As one of Dubai’s longest-running and most revered religious and cultural initiatives, the Dubai International Holy Quran Award continues to promote the true values and teachings of Islam, drawing top-tier reciters and memorizers from every corner of the globe.
