Dubai, UAE – October 24, 2026: Joyalukkas Jewellery has achieved two Guinness World Records titles for creating the world’s heaviest pair of gold earrings and the largest pair of earrings. The record-breaking handcrafted gold jhumkas weigh a combined net gold weight of 16.514 kilograms and are made of 22-karat gold.

The earrings were unveiled on Saturday by His Excellency Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism, at Jewel of Joy by Joyalukkas in Dubai Gold District.

An official Guinness World Records adjudicator presented certificates for both titles to Dr. Joy Alukkas, Chairman of Joyalukkas Group, and John Paul Alukkas, CEO of Joyalukkas Jewellery, during the ceremony attended by dignitaries, invited guests, media representatives and influencers.

‘Mayura Sahasra’: Inspired by a Thousand Peacocks

Named Mayura Sahasra, meaning “A Thousand Peacocks”, the earrings draw inspiration from the peacock, a traditional Indian symbol of grace, pride and beauty.

The elaborate jhumkas, inspired by South Asian bridal jewellery traditions, were handcrafted over several months by Joyalukkas’ master artisans. According to the company, the combined gold weight exceeds the previous world record by more than five times.

The design reflects intricate craftsmanship and the traditional bell-shaped form of jhumkas, bringing together cultural heritage and contemporary jewellery artistry in a single creation.

A Milestone for Joyalukkas

Dr. Joy Alukkas said the achievement was a tribute to Dubai, known globally as the City of Gold, and to the artisans whose craftsmanship made the creation possible.

He described securing two Guinness World Records titles with a single creation as a proud moment for the Joyalukkas family, its teams across 13 countries and its customers. He also dedicated the achievement to the UAE.

John Paul Alukkas said the record-breaking earrings would serve as a landmark attraction at Jewel of Joy, inviting residents, tourists and jewellery enthusiasts to experience the craftsmanship behind the creation.

Permanent Public Display in Dubai

The earrings will remain on permanent public display at Jewel of Joy by Joyalukkas in Dubai Gold District. Entry is free, allowing residents, tourists and jewellery lovers to view the record-setting creation.

The showroom is open seven days a week, from 10 am to 10 pm.

Joyalukkas Group operates more than 200 showrooms across 13 countries, including the UAE, India, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Singapore, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia and Canada.

The two Guinness World Records titles add a new milestone to the jewellery retailer’s international presence and highlight the craftsmanship behind one of its most distinctive creations.
