DUBAI: The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA Dubai) has achieved a significant milestone in digital government services by winning the ‘Best Digital City Experience’ award. This prestigious recognition was awarded to its ‘Domestic Worker Management’ initiative, developed under the Hamdan bin Mohammed Program for Government Services.
The award recognizes the project’s success in transforming domestic worker services into a comprehensive, seamless, and unified digital experience through excellent inter-governmental coordination. By integrating services from Dubai Health, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE), Digital Dubai, and Dubai Insurance, the entire recruitment lifecycle of domestic workers has been streamlined into a single digital journey. Customers can now access visa applications, government approvals, medical fitness tests, insurance, and residency procedures swiftly and efficiently on a unified platform.
Expressing his gratitude, Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA Dubai, thanked His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Executive Council.
Lt. General Al Marri emphasized that Sheikh Mohammed’s visionary leadership has established Dubai as a global benchmark for government excellence, while Sheikh Hamdan’s continuous support has been instrumental in creating proactive digital experiences.
He further noted that this achievement highlights GDRFA Dubai’s shift toward a human-centric approach, focusing on unified digital integration rather than traditional bureaucratic procedures. The award marks a continuation of GDRFA’s success in adopting artificial intelligence, biometric technology, and smart border management to deliver world-class public services.
