Dubai is set to welcome the New Year with a mega celebration dedicated to workers, featuring grand festivities, star-studded performances, and prizes worth more than Dh500,000, including cars and gold.
The event is being organised by the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai (GDRFA Dubai) in collaboration with the Dubai Permanent Committee for Labour Affairs. Now in its third consecutive year, the initiative reflects Dubai’s continued commitment to recognising the contribution of workers to the emirate’s growth and development. The main venue for the celebrations will be Al Quoz.
Designed in a hybrid format, the event will allow both in-person and virtual participation. Alongside Al Quoz, on-ground celebrations will also be held at designated labour hubs in Jebel Ali and Muhaisnah. The festivities will take place on December 31, 2025, starting at 6pm and continuing until midnight. Workers can also join the celebrations virtually through the Blue Connect app, which offers live streaming, digital engagement, and access to prize draws. Participation is free of charge, with simple registration required.
One of the key highlights of the event is a mega raffle draw featuring prizes exceeding Dh500,000 in value. Winners stand a chance to take home cars, gold coins and bars, mobile phones, and travel tickets, with both on-ground and virtual participants eligible to enter the draws.
The celebration will also feature high-energy stage shows with performances by well-known names from the film and music industries. Bollywood actors Zareen Khan, Poonam Pandey, Aneri Vajani, and Tanya Desai will take to the stage, alongside popular singers Sneha Upadhya and Ankush Bhardwaj. The entertainment lineup will be further enhanced by DJ Tasy Stepanova, international dance troupes, and traditional cultural performances from various countries.
Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA Dubai, said the initiative reflects the UAE’s strong humanitarian values, emphasising that workers are the backbone of Dubai’s development and true partners in building its future. Major General Obaid Muhair bin Suroor, Deputy Director General of GDRFA Dubai and Chairman of the Permanent Committee for Labour Affairs, added that the event aims to promote social cohesion and uphold the values of the ‘Year of Community’.
GDRFA Dubai has invited all workers across the emirate to participate in the unique New Year celebration, either in person or virtually via the Blue Connect app, describing it as a collective experience that embodies Dubai’s vision that “people are at the heart of development.”
