Mosques across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and the Northern Emirates host special prayers and gatherings to mark the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad.
ABU DHABI, August 25, 2026:The United Arab Emirates is observing Milad un-Nabi, the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad, on Tuesday with religious solemnity, spiritual reflection, and community gatherings. Faithful across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and the Northern Emirates gathered in mosques and cultural centers to commemorate the life, values, and teachings of the Prophet.
Special spiritual assemblies, known as Mawlid gatherings, were conducted across various Islamic institutions and mosques, where scholars delivered lectures highlighting the Prophet’s message of peace, compassion, tolerance, and unity. Recitations of sacred verses, devotional poetry, and hymns filled major places of worship from early morning.
In Abu Dhabi and Dubai, Islamic centers and expatriate community associations organized social welfare drives and charitable activities to mark the occasion. Organizers distributed meals and sweets, reflecting the traditional spirit of charity and hospitality associated with the observance.
“Milad un-Nabi serves as a timeless reminder to practice kindness, maintain family bonds, and serve humanity,” said a prominent Islamic scholar addressing a gathering in Abu Dhabi. “The values demonstrated by the Prophet continue to serve as a guide for peaceful coexistence in multicultural societies like the UAE.”
The UAE Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) and the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) routinely grant public and private sector employees an official holiday in observance of Prophet Muhammad’s birthday.
Residents across all seven emirates are engaging in family reunions, spiritual lectures, and quiet reflection throughout the day. Major Islamic cultural venues are hosting evening programs dedicated to classical Islamic calligraphy, historical exhibitions, and devotional recitations.
