Abu Dhabi: On the occasion of Mawlid al-Nabi (Prophet Muhammad’s birthday), UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan extended his heartfelt greetings to people across the nation and beyond. In a message shared on the occasion, he reflected on the timeless legacy of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), who stood for the well-being of others.
“On the birthday of the Prophet, we remember his eternal legacy of compassion and service to others. We pray to God for stability, unity, and peace for the world,” Sheikh Mohamed said.
To mark the occasion, the UAE government declared a three-day holiday for both the public and private sectors. Friday (Sept 6) will be observed as a public holiday, followed by the regular weekend on Saturday and Sunday, giving employees an extended break.
However, in Sharjah, where Friday is already part of the weekend, government employees will observe their regular weekly holiday.
Additionally, the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced that public parking will be free across Dubai on Friday in celebration of Mawlid al-Nabi. This excludes multi-level parking facilities and the Al Khail Gate parking zone (Code: N365).
Mawlid al-Nabi is observed on 12th Rabi’ al-Awwal, the third month of the Islamic calendar, and is celebrated by Muslims around the world to honor the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), reflecting on his life, teachings, and values.
