Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched the Al Ruwayyah Yard Project as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance urban infrastructure, support sustainability initiatives, and improve overall quality of life in the emirate.
The project focuses on streamlining parking facilities by providing organised and dedicated parking spaces for caravans, boats including jet skis, trailers, and food vending vehicles. By regulating such parking, the initiative also aims to protect Dubai’s urban landscape and strengthen its tourism appeal.
Highlighting the significance of the project, Abdullah Yousef Al Ali, CEO of the Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector at RTA, said the primary objective is to offer integrated and secure parking solutions for caravans, boats, trailers, and food trucks, while preventing unregulated parking practices and ensuring smooth traffic flow.
The Al Ruwayyah Yard provides 335 dedicated parking spaces equipped with advanced infrastructure. The initiative contributes to increasing road capacity efficiency, enhancing traffic safety, and expanding the city’s visual and functional appeal.
The project forms part of a broader RTA strategy to sustainably utilise authority-owned plots across the emirate, including sites located in various districts. It also addresses challenges caused by random and unregulated parking in roadside and residential areas, supporting Dubai’s ambition to remain a leading global destination for living, tourism, and business.
