Flag carrier cites evolving regional security situation; offers free rebookings and cancellations for affected passengers across the Middle East

PARIS / DUBAI:French flag carrier Air France has announced the temporary suspension of its flights to Dubai and Riyadh, while extending its existing operational pause for services to Beirut. The airline cited the rapidly changing geopolitical and security landscape across the Middle East as the driving factor behind the decisions.

The airline confirmed that all impacted travelers are being contacted directly and introduced commercial relief measures allowing customers to postpone or cancel their itineraries without incurring additional fees.

Flight Suspension Timelines and Routes

According to an official operational bulletin issued by Air France, the route suspensions will follow specific regional schedules:

  • Dubai (DXB): Flights to and from Dubai International Airport are suspended through July 27, 2026. Flights departing from Dubai back to Paris will remain halted through July 28.
  • Riyadh (RUH): Flights between Paris and the Saudi capital will be suspended through July 24, with return departures from Riyadh affected until July 25.
  • Beirut (BEY): The ongoing suspension of flights to and from the Lebanese capital has been further extended through August 2, 2026.

Air France noted that the eventual resumption of services on these routes will remain strictly contingent upon ongoing assessments of regional airspace security and local operational conditions.

Passenger Relief and Operational Monitoring

To mitigate disruption, Air France has introduced flexible rebooking protocols. Affected passengers can modify or cancel their bookings free of charge, even if their specific scheduled flight has not been officially cancelled. Customers who booked directly with the carrier can manage adjustments online via the airline’s self-service portals, while those who booked through third-party agencies are advised to contact their travel providers.

The airline reiterated that the safety of its passengers and flight crews remains its paramount priority, adding that its operational teams are continuously monitoring airspace restrictions and geopolitical developments across the region.
