Kerala Tourism Minister P.C. Vishnunadh unveils the special festive menu, catering to passengers travelling during the harvest festival across domestic and Gulf routes.
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM —Air India Express has introduced an exclusive Onasadya meal package for passengers flying during the Onam festival season. Kerala Tourism, Culture, and Cinema Minister P.C. Vishnunadh officially launched the specially curated traditional feast in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday alongside senior airline executives.
The seasonal culinary offering aims to bring the authentic flavors of Kerala’s harvest festival to domestic and international travelers, particularly non-resident Keralites returning home from the Gulf region.
The traditional feast, served on a banana leaf-themed tray, features classic Onam delicacies including Kerala rice, avial, thoran, sambar, olan, rasam, and banana chips, accompanied by traditional payasam for dessert.
Launching the initiative, Minister P.C. Vishnunadh highlighted the role of regional connectivity and festive engagement in promoting Kerala’s cultural heritage to global travelers. Airline representatives noted that the initiative reflects their commitment to offering localized, culturally relevant services to passengers during peak travel periods.
Sunil Suresh, Head of Marketing, E-commerce, and Loyalty at the Air India Group, attended the launch event. He stated that the festive menu has been designed to offer passengers an authentic taste of Kerala’s culinary traditions while maintaining international standards of flight catering.
The special meal service will be available for pre-booking on select domestic routes and international flights operating between Kerala and destinations in the Middle East throughout the festive period. Passengers can reserve their meals through the airline’s official website and mobile application prior to departure.
