The 33rd edition introduces ATM Travel Tech as international tourism leaders gather at Dubai World Trade Centre to address long-term growth through 2040
DUBAI, Sept. 14, 2026 : The 33rd edition of the Arabian Travel Market opened Monday at the Dubai World Trade Centre, convening thousands of tourism executives, government ministers, and tech innovators to negotiate bilateral deals and address commercial headwinds following months of global travel disruptions.
Running through Sept. 17 under the theme ‘Travel 2040: Driving New Frontiers Through Innovation and Technology,’ this year’s summit pivots heavily toward artificial intelligence, destination resilience, smart mobility, and cross-border commercial strategy.
The exhibition floor features a major structural addition: ATM Travel Tech, an independent co-located exhibition occupying two dedicated halls. More than 180 enterprise technology firms from 30 countries are exhibiting within the space, which includes an 850-square-meter Tech & Innovation Hub showcasing enterprise robotics, fintech payment pipelines, extended reality platforms, and decarbonization tooling.
Industry leaders confront an operating environment marked by shifting consumer spending patterns and supply chain volatility. Danielle Curtis, Exhibition Director ME for event organizer RX Global, said the face-to-face gathering serves as a critical mechanism for rebuilding commercial certainty.
“This year is particularly significant as we see continued evolution across both the industry and ATM itself,” Curtis said. “The industry has faced its share of challenges in recent months, reinforcing the value of bringing our community together in person to identify opportunities emerging over the next phase of growth.”
Discussions on automation and algorithmic discovery led Monday’s technical sessions. Dr. Marwan Alzarouni, Chief Executive for Artificial Intelligence at Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism, delivered the opening technology address on autonomous workflow integration across hospitality infrastructure. Subsequent panels brought together operational leads from Sabre, Trip.com, Tripadvisor, MakeMyTrip, Wego, RateGain, and Visa to examine agentic AI systems, corporate consolidation, and dynamic inventory pricing.
High-level policy deliberations began on the Global Stage with an opening ministerial panel on regional tourism resilience. UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri led discussions alongside regional tourism ministers and international delegates, addressing regulatory alignment across the Gulf Cooperation Council, integrated visa ecosystems, and synchronized destination marketing to safeguard market share.
Analytical firms including Oxford Economics’ Tourism Economics, Euromonitor International, STR, and Dragon Trail International are presenting proprietary market forecasting throughout the summit. Early briefing papers indicate that while macroeconomic headwinds have created pockets of demand elasticity, long-term outbound volumes from key Asian and Western source markets remain fundamentally sound.
The event also rolls out ATM’s restructured corporate visual identity, part of a push to transform the annual trade convention into a continuous digital business exchange. Show floors and roundtables at the Dubai World Trade Centre will operate daily through Thursday afternoon.
