The multidisciplinary facility integrates screening, surgical oncology, reconstruction, and dedicated navigation to tackle the UAE’s most prevalent cancer among women.
DUBAI, Oct. 19, 2026 : Aster Hospital Al Qusais has opened a specialized breast clinic in Dubai, centralizing screening, surgical care, oncology, and post-treatment reconstruction under a single clinical pathway to streamline early detection and treatment for women across the United Arab Emirates.
The clinic, situated on the first floor of Aster Hospital Al Qusais, officially commenced operations on October 1, aligning with international Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The facility consolidates multidisciplinary medical teams to provide seamless diagnostics and personalized treatment regimens for both benign breast conditions and malignant tumors.
Breast cancer remains the most frequently diagnosed malignancy among women in the United Arab Emirates. Official data from the UAE National Cancer Registry 2023, published by the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP), indicates that breast cancer accounted for 36.6 percent of all malignant cases diagnosed among women nationwide, with 1,445 female cases recorded during the year.
Medical leadership at the healthcare network emphasized that eliminating logistical delays in diagnostic workups directly influences patient survival rates.
“Early diagnosis remains one of the single most critical factors in improving breast cancer outcomes,” said Dr. Sherbaz Bichu, Group Chief Operating Officer for Aster DM Healthcare GCC. “With our dedicated breast clinic, women gain streamlined access to experienced female breast specialist surgeons, advanced diagnostics, and integrated multidisciplinary care under one roof. By simplifying the path to expert evaluation and accurate diagnosis, our focus is to ensure early intervention, peace of mind, and better clinical results.”
The clinic’s diagnostic and surgical wing integrates breast imaging modalities, including digital mammography, high-resolution ultrasound, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), alongside minimally invasive biopsy procedures. The medical program also extends to complex surgical interventions, oncological therapies, aesthetic breast reconstruction, clinical nutrition, physical rehabilitation, and structured survivorship support.
Dr. Hafsa Salim Dabar, Specialist General and Laparoscopic Surgeon at Aster Hospital Al Qusais, noted that clinical pathways must adapt to the divergent medical profiles presented by individual patients.
“Breast health requirements vary significantly from patient to patient, which makes timely evaluation and coordinated clinical management essential,” Dr. Dabar said. “By bringing the relevant disciplines together, the clinic supports patients from initial assessment through recovery, managing benign lesions as well as high-risk and malignant conditions.”
The clinical panel comprises specialists across oncology, surgery, and imaging:
- General & Laparoscopic Surgery: Dr. Hafsa Salim Dabar
- Medical Oncology: Dr. Pranab Karipodi Prabhakaran (Consultant)
- Surgical Oncology: Dr. Afsal Mohammed
- Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery: Dr. Narayan Ganapathi Hegde (Consultant) and Dr. Senthilkumar Ramaswamy
- Radiology: Dr. Donald Luke Mathew, Dr. Sreekutty Sarasamma, Dr. Namitha Kalathil, and Dr. Athira Puthiyedath
To minimize the administrative and emotional burden of cancer care, the center assigns a dedicated breast care nurse to each patient. The navigator coordinates consultations, explains clinical instructions and treatment protocols, liaises with medical specialists, and guides patients through active recovery. Administrative concierges handle appointment scheduling, hospital navigation, and clinical records management.
Long-term emotional and psychosocial assistance is delivered via COSMOS, a peer support network run under the Aster Volunteers umbrella, offering patient support groups and community resources for families navigating long-term treatment.
