ABU DHABI — Burjeel Holdings has launched a comprehensive “mission-ready healthcare” model designed for rapid deployment during emergency, tactical, and complex medical situations, showcasing its capabilities at the Abu Dhabi Future Health Summit.
The exhibition booth, anchored by the theme “A System for Every Second,” drew senior leadership including Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil, Founder and Chairman of Burjeel Holdings, presented the group’s operational roadmap to visiting dignitaries, detailing ongoing expansion plans at Burjeel Medical City alongside specialized emergency response infrastructure.
The framework integrates field-level trauma management, air evacuation, AI diagnostics, and tertiary hospital care. Group entities demonstrated clinical systems refined across operations serving 1.7 million patients across 17 countries.
Operational capabilities on display span military medical training, austere and conflict-zone medicine, mobile clinics, and custom-outfitted ambulance fleets.
“Anticipating critical clinical demands before they peak determines patient survival,” Dr. Shamsheer said. “Connecting frontline first responders directly to tertiary quaternary surgical facilities through real-time systems removes critical bottlenecks.”
The model consolidates several specialized operational arms:
- Prometheus Medical International: Delivers tactical trauma training, military medical support, and forward-deployed clinical care in hostile environments.
- Response Plus Medical (RPM): Coordinates regional pre-hospital logistics, fixed-wing and rotor air ambulance evacuations, and remote site medical staffing.
- Doctory: Deploys containerized and modular field clinics designed for rapid setup in remote, disconnected regions.
- BEACON (Burjeel Emergency and Acute Care Operational Network): Acts as the central nervous system connecting emergency rooms, trauma bays, adult and pediatric ICUs, and inter-facility transfers across Burjeel Medical City and network hospitals.
During the summit, Burjeel Holdings and its affiliates ratified several strategic cross-border partnerships focused on oncology, clinical trials, and artificial intelligence integration.
Collaborations with UK-based Avatrial and US biotech firm Avesta Bio aim to accelerate advanced oncology clinical trials and targeted therapeutic pipelines in the UAE. An agreement with AI healthcare platform HealthStay focuses on automating cross-border patient triage and intake. Additional partnerships signed during the summit involve the Advanced Research Projects Institute (ARPI) of South Korea, New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD), and telecom operator e& (Etisalat) to reinforce digital health backbones and joint translational research.
