Underprivileged children in the Indian capital distribute meals and cut a celebratory cake to honor the humanitarian legacy of Dubai’s Ruler.
NEW DELHI, July 16, 2026 : Children supported by the Delhi-based non-governmental organization Food on Wheels have marked the 77th birthday of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, through a unique community feeding initiative.
The tribute featured a celebratory cake-cutting ceremony followed by the distribution of hot biryani meals to hundreds of children residing in underprivileged slum clusters near the capital city.
Organized entirely by Food on Wheels, a grass-roots NGO operating in New Delhi, the event was designed to pay homage to the expansive international humanitarian footprint of the Dubai Ruler. The initiative reflected the spirit of global giving championed by Sheikh Mohammed, whose various foundations regularly deploy food security programs and educational aid across developing regions worldwide.
For the organizers and participating children, the outreach offered a tangible way to mirror the philanthropic values often associated with the UAE’s leadership. By turning a traditional birthday celebration into a functional food distribution drive, the event directly supported vulnerable youngsters in the community while introducing them to the legacy of regional leaders who prioritize social welfare.
The initiative stood out as a distinct cross-border gesture of appreciation from a grassroots Indian organization, highlighting the deep cultural and humanitarian resonance that the UAE leadership commands among diverse communities internationally.
