Showcase at Al Jafiliya headquarters displays handcrafted artwork, textiles, and decorative items to advance community inclusion and creative enterprise.
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai hosted the ‘Made with Determination’ exhibition at its main headquarters in Al Jafiliya, creating a dedicated platform for People of Determination to present handcrafted products, engage directly with public visitors, and demonstrate their creative talents.
The exhibition formed part of GDRFA Dubai’s ongoing community empowerment initiatives, designed to foster social integration and provide practical commercial exposure for artists and makers with disabilities. Stalls set up across the directorate’s central atrium featured an array of handcrafted goods, including acrylic paintings, ceramic and customized drinkware, woven tote bags, and ornate artisan crafts.

Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA Dubai, led senior officials and staff in touring the displays. Al Marri met individual participants, reviewed their work, and commended their artistic craftsmanship and dedication.
The initiative offered participants direct interactions with visitors and department personnel, allowing makers to discuss their creative processes, explain the techniques behind each item, and market their products independently. Directorate officials highlighted that recognizing such achievements directly builds self-reliance and encourages sustained artistic engagement.

The showcase aligns with the United Arab Emirates’ national policy for empowering People of Determination, a framework that prioritizes full social inclusion, accessible working environments, and vocational support across public and private sectors. By opening its institutional space to grassroots creators, GDRFA aims to eliminate barriers to participation while highlighting the economic and creative contributions of disabled community members.
Participants received public and institutional commendations throughout the event, reinforcing the department’s mandate to maintain inclusive civic spaces and advance equal opportunity programs across the emirate.
