Abu Dhabi: Dubai Islamic Bank has donated AED5 million to the Faraj Fund in support of the “Farajat” community initiative ahead of Eid al-Adha.

According to the fund, the contribution helped secure the release of 74 financially distressed inmates from correctional and penal institutions across the UAE.

Khalil Badran said the organisation continues its humanitarian efforts to support financially distressed individuals through the backing of strategic partners and donors.

He praised Dubai Islamic Bank’s contribution, describing it as a reflection of the bank’s commitment to charitable work, social solidarity, and community support initiatives.

Dubai Islamic Bank stated that its support for the Faraj Fund aligns with its broader corporate social responsibility strategy and humanitarian programmes aimed at serving the community and supporting vulnerable groups.

The Faraj Fund, operating under the UAE Ministry of Interior, regularly works with government entities, charitable organisations, and private-sector partners to assist inmates facing financial difficulties and facilitate their reintegration into society.
