Eight held in under 12 hours over rare Dh12m oud heist in Dubai.
Dubai Police have arrested eight suspects within 12 hours of an alleged theft involving a rare luxury oud valued at Dh12 million.
Authorities said the swift operation resulted in the detention of all suspects shortly after the case was reported, including a woman accused of impersonating a princess as part of the alleged scheme.
According to Dubai Police, specialised investigation teams launched an immediate operation upon receiving the report, enabling officers to identify, track, and apprehend the suspects in less than half a day.
Officials said the rapid response highlights the force’s readiness and capability in handling high-value theft cases and complex criminal investigations.
The stolen item at the centre of the case was described as a rare luxury oud, with an estimated value of Dh12 million, making it one of the most significant theft cases involving luxury goods in recent months.
Dubai Police confirmed that investigations are continuing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and determine the specific roles played by each suspect.
Authorities have not yet disclosed further details regarding the recovery of the oud or the identities and nationalities of those arrested.
