Abu Dhabi: Edelman Smithfield has strengthened its Middle East leadership team through a series of senior promotions and a new appointment, reinforcing its focus on regional growth and expertise.

Dhanya Issac has been promoted to Managing Director for the Middle East, expanding her role to lead capital markets advisory while supporting the firm’s broader financial communications strategy across the region. She will continue to head the Dubai office and advise major clients on IPOs, M&A and investor relations.

Tarek Zahnan has been elevated to Senior Director, reflecting his growing leadership responsibilities. Since joining in 2022, he has led strategic advisory work for Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), helping enhance its international profile.

The firm has also appointed Pia Pennyfather as Director, joining from Barclays in London. She brings experience in investment banking, fintech and central banking, including a role at the Bank of England.

Regional leaders said the moves highlight Edelman Smithfield’s ongoing investment in talent and its commitment to strengthening financial communications capabilities across the Middle East, where the team now includes 40 specialists within a wider network of over 200 professionals.
