One-way fares begin at Dh39 for the 57-minute trip linking Dubai Al Yalayis Station to Mohammed Bin Zayed City in Abu Dhabi.
DUBAI, Sept. 22, 2026 : Commuters can now reserve passenger train seats between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, as Etihad Rail opened online bookings on Tuesday ahead of its official route rollout scheduled for September 30.
Direct rail service between the UAE’s two largest commercial hubs will begin commercial operations on September 30, cutting city-to-city travel times to 57 minutes.
Tickets are available through the operator’s booking portal at etihadrail.ae. Fares for Comfort Class start at Dh39 for a one-way trip, while Premium Class bookings are priced from Dh109.
The route links Dubai’s newly built Al Yalayis Station, located adjacent to the Jumeirah Golf Estates area, with the Mohammed Bin Zayed City station in Abu Dhabi. The Dubai hub sits within walking proximity of the Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station on the Route 2020 Red Line branch, establishing an integrated transfer corridor between the national rail trunk and the Dubai Metro network.
Passenger rail services across the UAE first commenced in June with the debut of the Abu Dhabi–Fujairah line. Etihad Rail reported that early operations on that eastern corridor drew substantial demand, surpassing 70,000 passenger bookings, with riders reserving seats an average of 12 days prior to travel. By comparison, standard one-way fares on the Fujairah route start at Dh55.
The Dubai–Abu Dhabi link forms the core trunk line of the National Railway Programme, designed to relieve highway bottlenecks along the E11 (Sheikh Zayed Road) and E311 corridors while integrating ports, industrial free zones, and metropolitan districts across all seven emirates.
