Bullion shakes off a one-month low while silver, platinum, and palladium track parallel morning advances

LONDON / DUBAI — September 3, 2026 : Gold pushed back above the $4,400 threshold on Thursday morning, recovering from a near one-month low as a softening US dollar and cooling Treasury yields gave bullion buyers fresh momentum.

Spot gold advanced 0.5% to $4,409.97 an ounce by 0219 GMT, rebounding from heavy selling in the prior session that had dragged prices to multi-week depths. US gold futures outpaced spot gains, climbing 0.9% to reach $4,455.30.

The pullback in both the greenback and benchmark bond yields reduced the carrying cost of holding non-yielding precious metals, drawing bargain hunters back into the physical and derivatives markets. When sovereign debt returns ease and currency indices retreat from recent peaks, dollar-denominated bullion traditionally gathers support from international buyers seeking liquid hedges.

Market participants continue to calibrate exposure against shifting expectations for interest rates and broad economic data releases due later this week. The morning bounce extended right across the precious metals complex, reflecting broad-based appetite rather than isolated positioning in gold.

Spot silver rose 0.6% to $65.74 an ounce, holding firm alongside industrial recovery expectations. Platinum mirrored the advance with a 0.6% climb to trade at $1,770.88, while autocatalyst metal palladium gained 0.6% to sit at $1,354.00.

Traders are monitoring incoming sovereign economic prints and central bank forward guidance to gauge whether bullion’s recovery can sustain upward velocity toward recent highs.
