Kuwait: Kuwait’s air defence systems intercepted and destroyed drones and missiles on Thursday morning, according to a statement issued by the Kuwaiti Army’s General Staff.
The statement, carried by Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), said the loud explosions heard across several parts of Kuwait were the result of successful interception operations carried out by the country’s air defence forces.
Military authorities urged residents to remain calm and follow official safety instructions issued by relevant authorities.
No casualties or damage were immediately reported following the interceptions.
The incident comes amid heightened regional tensions and increased security monitoring across Gulf countries.
Kuwaiti authorities have not yet released further operational details regarding the origin or intended targets of the intercepted drones and missiles.
